Mission Statement: This office strives
to deliver quality professional services to assure a safe environment for
the University Community, its patients, visitors and public. It is charged
with the prevention, discovery and correction of safety and environmental
hazards to its community.
The Fire Marshal's Office is open from 7:30a.m.
to 4:30p.m. Monday through Friday. To contact a fire marshal, please call 1-7938 Main Campus, or 2-4766 Health Science Center. A fire marshal can
be reached during weekends and non-business hours by calling (215) 204-1234,

Principal Functions and Responsibilities |

| Maintain
required certification of all fire protection systems fixed and portable
Conduct building inspections for fire and occupational hazards OHSA Compliance Serve as the liaison with local building and fire inspectors Investigate all causes of fire, odor and chemical spills Administer the Emergency Action Plan |
Coordinate
all elevator safety, modernization, and maintenance
Asbestos identification, control and abatement Ensure that the University is in compliance with all local fire codes Conduct fire safety training Conduct fire drills Administer Evacuation Procedures Administer the Fire Prevention Plan |
