A new center for Burn patients has been created from an old antiquated intensive care unit. This renovation project established a seven bed intensive care unit, including a special procedure room for treatments and operating room for sterile procedures. The intensive care unit is specially designed to minimize exposure to infections, a major determining factor in the prognosis of burn patients. Special air filtration, hands free hand-washing facilities and individual patient rooms were included in the design to manage infection concerns.
