Project
Description: This
is a five-phase project. The scope of the work will be a total
interior renovation project to Beury Hall, TU’s chemistry building. The
scope will include renovation to all floors and replacement of the
building’s infrastructure. The
mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are to be replaced and/or
upgraded to include the backbone feeds to upper floors.
Lecture halls will be upgraded to include Level I, Smart
Technology. Academic offices, classrooms, and research spaces will
be upgraded as well. Phase
I -- Basement Level renovations, Phase II -- 1st Floor renovations,
Phase III -- 2nd Floor renovations, Phase IV -- 3rd Floor
renovations, Phase V -- 4th Floor renovations Justification: The plumbing, mechanical, and electrical infrastructure of Beury Hall, built in 1963, are well beyond their useful life, and in some cases, do not even meet current building code standards. Because of the year-round occupancy of the building, with research and academic classes, the work will be phased on a floor by floor basis in order to allow for continuous use on the other floors. The project will provide the science building with modern day teaching labs and building technology that meets twenty first century standards. |
| Current Project Status: Phase I through III are complete. Phase IV construction is underway | |
