Ambler Electrical Distribution - High Voltage Yard Enlargement

Estimated Project Cost:   $950,000

Project Description:  Replace the high voltage yard and its adjacent electrical distribution shack.  Construct a new, larger high voltage electrical yard nearby.  Allow for parallel installations, with parallel PECO services, and switch individual services over one at a time.  Include capacity and space for 13.2 kV and 208 volt services to future buildings.  Provide a 13.2 kV outdoor switchgear enclosure, parallel high voltage transformers, and an outdoor 208 volt distribution switchboard for loads fed from the current electrical distribution shack.  Include a fence and roof (roof if desired) and install the equipment on individual pads on a gravel base to accommodate future modifications.  Raise the gravel area to facilitate drainage.  Disconnect the existing PECO service and demolish the existing high voltage yard and shack when construction is complete.  Convert the existing yard area into a garden.  Screen the new high voltage yard with shrubs.

Current Project Status:  Design Phase complete.  Construction will begin end of May 2007.
