Design and Construction
The mission of these units is to provide all necessary services to ensure that construction and renovation projects, regardless of scope, are designed and built to meet the needs of our students, faculty, and staff. The Planning & Design units work with University clients from project conception through programming and completion of design. The Planning & Design Department is staffed by architects and designers. The Construction and Engineering unit assures that projects are implemented in a timely manner; are of the highest quality; and meet all budget requirements. This group is staffed primarily by managers of operating areas, backed up by contract specialists, and internal accounting support. These departments are involved in every phase of the capital project process, beginning with conceptual planning through ribbon-cutting. Over $1 billion in renovation and construction projects have been completed since 1991. |
