Revisiting Myself 2: Poem

Text: JK
Art by DCS

restBringing our own share of pain
We journey to the ravaged land
Where winter never melts
And peace poses for prosperity

There's a difference in the eyes up here
Even when we smile, you can see how we've aged
Through time and trial
And no one can say if we're here to heal
Or simply grow strong enough
To return to the war
Raging there below

Here we're free to look down
Into waters off the edge of the world
Welcoming us if we choose to meet them
Waiting for us even if we go back
