Temple University has renumbered all of its courses.
Here is a guide to how the First-Year Writing Program has been renumbered. Only the numbers will change; all other details remain the same unless noted below.
English 40 has become English 1001. It will become English 0701 in the spring of 2008.
English 41 has become English 1011. It will become English 0711 in the spring of 2008.
English 50 has become English 1002. In the fall of 2008 the new version of this course, a four-credit, General Education course called Analytical Reading and Writing, will launch. This course will be numbered as English 0802.
English 51 has become English 1012. In the fall of 2008 the new version of this course, a four-credit, General Education course called Critical Reading and Writing (ESL), will launch. This course will be numbered as English 0812.
English R50 has become English 1022 - the last semester this course will exist will be spring 2008. Race requirements can be met by taking Representing Race courses run by the Dept. of English.
