The Center work products include white papers, industry and scientific conference presentations, and basic and applied research on a variety of topics such as:
- Analytical Methods
- At source and end-of-pipe treatment technologies
- Technologies for in-situ site remediation
- Optimization of existing POTW and industry systems
- Development of new innovative and industry specific solid & hazardous waste management and treatment options
- Water conservation and sustainability
- Pollution prevention & green chemistry
- Pre-emptive research designed to address ECs of concern
- Chemical and biological sensors for detection and monitoring
- Presence and fate of ECs in biosolids, animal manure surface and groundwater, municipal and drinking water treatment plants
- Toxicity and Estrogenicity
Some of the treatment technologies being researched include ozonation, advanced oxidation processes, adsorption, ion-exchange, sonochemistry, nano-filtration and chemical-selective nanomaterials, membrane and other bioreactors.
