The Center work products include white papers, industry and scientific conference presentations, and basic and applied research on a variety of topics such as:

  • Analytical Methods
  • At source and end-of-pipe treatment technologies
  • Technologies for in-situ site remediation
  • Optimization of existing POTW and industry systems
  • Development of new innovative and industry specific solid & hazardous waste management and treatment options
  • Water conservation and sustainability
  • Pollution prevention & green chemistry
  • Pre-emptive research designed to address ECs of concern
  • Chemical and biological sensors for detection and monitoring
  • Presence and fate of ECs in biosolids, animal manure surface and groundwater, municipal and drinking water treatment plants
  • Toxicity and Estrogenicity

Some of the treatment technologies being researched include ozonation, advanced oxidation processes, adsorption, ion-exchange, sonochemistry, nano-filtration and chemical-selective nanomaterials, membrane and other bioreactors.
