Transferring to the College of Engineering
Transfer students are an important part of the College of Engineering community. The College of Engineering has established transfer agreements, including university core-to-core courses, for transfer students to enroll in its civil engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, and mechanical engineering programs from the following colleges:
- Community College of Philadelphia
- Delaware County Community College
- Montgomery County Community College
- Lehigh Carbon Community College
The College has established transfer equivalency credits to the civil engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, and mechanical engineering programs from the following colleges:
- Bucks County Community College
- Camden County Community College
- Northampton Community College
Additionally, the College has established transfer equivalency credits for the engineering technology programs in civil and construction engineering technology and general engineering technology from the following colleges:
- Community College of Philadelphia
- Delaware County Community College
- Montgomery County Community College
- Lehigh Carbon County College
- Camden County Community College
- Pennsylvania Institute of Technology
Additional Considerations for Transfer Students
In general, students transferring with the Associate in Science (AS) degree have experienced a more successful transfer into one of the College’s engineering programs especially if the AS degree is in Engineering Science. Students transferring with the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree have transferred more successfully into one of the engineering technology programs. The AAS degree is more difficult to transfer into one of the College’s engineering programs. Students who are in good academic standing and are transferring from another 4 year (BS) engineering program which is accredited by ABET can usually continue the same major with little interruption. However a detailed analysis of transfer credits must be done and a plan of study developed for completion of the desired major.
