Some of the notable milestones and events from this past year include:

+ Passing the 1,000 mark for number of students in the college

+ Receiving ABET accreditation of our Leigh Carbon Community College program

+ Extending our ABET accreditation for our main campus technology programs

+ Receiving Board of Trustee approval to establish a Department of Bioengineering

+ Receiving Board of Trustee approval to rename the Civil and Construction Engineering Technology program to Construction Management Technology

+ Receiving Board of Trustee approval to revise and enhance our Co-op program.

+ Implementing differential tuition

+ Redesigning the college's website in order to provide more information about our programs and faculty and student research activities to prospecting students

+ Posting a video clip about the college on YouTube

+ Welcoming four research faculty members and two teaching faculty members to the college

+ Receiving nearly $9 million of new multi-year research funding to our faculty

+ Renovating and enhancing our research and teaching facilities

Furthermore, our students and faculty received numerous awards and recognition for their achievements:

+ Dr. Dennis Silage, professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, received a national teaching award

+ Numerous students received awards at national conferences

+ Two faculty members, Dr. George Baran, associate dean and professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering was named a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical Radioligical Engineering, and Dr. Mohammad Kiani, chair and professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering was elected a Fellow of the American Heart Association.
