Faculty Positions in the Mechanical Engineering Department
Temple University’s College of Engineering is experiencing a rapid expansion in its research and education endeavors, including a new Research Tower building scheduled for Fall 2012. In striving for further growth and continued excellence, the Department of Mechanical Engineering has several openings for tenure-track or tenured faculty positions at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor with the expected start date of Fall 2011. Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or a closely related field; these candidates must be able to develop significant research programs and provide effective instruction at undergraduate and graduate levels in mechanical engineering. Applicants with expertise relevant to energy technologies including, but not limited to, renewable energy, advanced energy conversion and storage, energy efficiency improvements, energy system measurements, modeling and control, materials, and transport phenomena, are encouraged to apply. Senior appointments will be considered for applicants with demonstrated scholarship, including a strong record of securing and conducting externally funded research. Salaries are competitive and significant resources have been allocated for start-up.

Research and Teaching Assistantships
Multiple Research and Teaching Assistantship positions are available for graduate students in the general areas of mechanical engineering and bioengineering. The assistantships include tuition remission, health insurance, and a monthly stipend.
