
Temple University is a comprehensive public research university. The Carnegie Foundation has designated Temple as a Research Extensive University, including it among the top 151 of the nation's universities with comprehensive curricula and nationally recognized research programs. Research activities are guided by the Office of the Vice President of Research & Graduate Studies.

The College has outstanding research-oriented faculty members that have been recipients of prestigious awards and grants for their research efforts. New faculty, increased funding, and overall growth of the College cultivates new research areas; the development of new research laboratories and centers; and the enhancement of facilities.
