Co-Op Program
The Temple Engineering Co-op Program is a great opportunity
for you to obtain valuable hands-on engineering
experience. Co-op students’ paid, on-the-job assignments
allow you to work with a variety of engineering professionals.
You will:
- explore an array of engineering career options.
- gain real work experience with high-profile
employers, giving you an advantage when
entering the full-time engineering job market.
- develop in-depth relationships with co-op
employers who—experience shows—are
ultimately more likely to hire you.
- work as a paid employee in your chosen
profession while a student.
The Co-op Sequence
The Temple Engineering Co-op Program is a
five-year program. Beginning in the second
semester of your sophomore year, you will alternate
semesters of classroom study with semesters
of full-time professional employment as a
co-op student. You will complete four cycles of work experience that last four to five months
each, depending on the length of each semester.

FAQ:
Where could I work?
We’ll make the best match possible between your interests,
abilities and available jobs More than 80 percent of
our co-op students work in the Delaware Valley region.
But there are many opportunities throughout the U.S.
What could I do on a co-op assignment?
Co-op students perform many of the same tasks as entry-level
engineering professionals, but at a level appropriate
to their engineering educational status. Your assignments
might range from surveying to database management,
AutoCad work, assisting a project engineer, creating
mechanical parts or working on circuits and program
design. It all depends on your major, your abilities and
the needs of your current employer.
How much could I earn?
Wages will be determined by your co-op employer. Co-op
students earn, on average, between $1,900 and $2,500 per
month. Just as starting salaries vary significantly by
discipline, so do co-op earnings. During the entire program you could earn approximately $22,800 to $40,000.
