Preparing for the PAPA (Level I) Exams and Praxis II (for Secondary Education and Middle Grades students)

The first level of the teacher certification exams, called the Pre-service Academic Performance Assessment (PAPA), consists of reading, writing and math sections.   Many questions about these tests - test-prep strategies, sample questions, and test objectives - can be answered on the Pennsylvania Educator Certification Tests site

PLATO

The PLATO Simulated Test System PLATO is an Internet accessible test-prep tool that can assist Secondary Education and Middle Grades students in preparing for the Praxis II certification exams.  

(Note:Since the Level I - PAPA - exams have been moved to a new company, PLATO prep is no longer available.   Please see the section above for more details about prep, and be sure to read the Tutoring section below.  

 

Study Guides

ETS Study Guides  for those students taking Praxis II are available.   Printed and electronic study guides are also available through the Temple University Library

 

Tutoring

For students needing additional assistance for the Math and Writing modules,, individual tutoring is available on main campus at the Math and Science Resource Center and The Writing Center.
