Advanced Degree and/or Additional Certification (Graduate)
Designed for applicants who already hold a Pennsylvania Instructional I or II certification, an advanced degree or add-on certification program from Temple offers current teachers the opportunity to build a deeper understanding of teaching, learning and human development and to explore strategies for effective engagement in K-12 classrooms in challenging or demanding assignments where a broad repertoire of teaching approaches is essential.
Master's Programs
- Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.)
Enables working teachers, both relatively new teachers and veterans, to reflect on and analyze their own practices in order to move their teaching to a higher level. Concentrations in Accomplished Teaching, Applied Behavior Analysis, Career & Technical Education, and TESOL. - Special Education (PreK-8) Master's Program with Additional Certification
Offers those who already hold an Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle Grades, Art, Music, or Physical Education teacher certification the opportunity to pursue a Master's in Special Education with Special Education Teacher Certification (PreK-8).
Additional/Second Certification
- Program Specialist: ESL Additional Certification
Prepares teachers to work effectively in Pennsylvania public K-12 schools with children learning English as a second language. - Program Specialist: Instructional Learning Technologist Certification
Prepares teachers and administrators to effectively use technology in learning environments. - Special Education (PreK-8) Additional Certification
Prepares teachers to engage inclusive educational practices, both within schools and within society as a whole, and to work effectively with childen with physical, emotional, and learning disabilities in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth.
