Searching for potential funding or support for your research project? Grant seekers may wish to consult the web sites below for funding opportunities. Which Funders Support the College's Sponsored Projects?

In recent years, Principal Investigators at the College of Education have been awarded external funding from a diverse set of private, state and federal sponsors. Funders supporting research and evaluation projects conducted by members of the College of Education faculty include, but are not limited to, the:

  • Ford Foundation
  • George Gund Foundation
  • Lumina Foundation for Education
  • National Institutes of Health
  • Philadelphia Department of Education
  • School District of Philadelphia
  • William Penn School District
  • U.S. Department of Education.

Current research and evaluation projects being conducted through the College's centers are supported by, among others, the:

  • National Science Foundation
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education
  • Philadelphia Education Fund
  • School District of Philadelphia
  • William Penn Foundation.

In addition to research and evaluation projects, the College has been awarded external funding to support various programs that provide direct service and/or technical assistance. A select list of recent funders in this category include the:

Recent Grant Recipients

Congratulations to the following faculty members who, in 2006-07, were awarded grants and/or fellowships to support their work.

Kristie Jones Newton, Assistant Professor, CITE: Recipient of a University-sponsored Summer 2007 Research Grant.

Tricia S. Jones, Associate Professor, PSE: Recipient of a $120,000 grant from the George Gund Foundation for an expansion of the CRETE project (Conflict Resolution Education in Teacher Education) during the April 2007- March 2009 period.

Lynda Price, Associate Professor, CITE: Recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to conduct collaborative research at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
