Core Knowledge and Skill		 TEAC Claim 1: graduates know and understand the subjects they plan to teach (i.e., they demonstrate content knowledge). 
TEACH ED SLO 01b
Core Knowledge and Skill		 TEAC Claim 2: Students demonstrate skillful teaching, including the pedagogical knowledge necessary for caring and professional decision making, in their area of specialization. We define caring and skillful teaching as teaching for all students as manifested in lesson plans developed and taught by students that (a) facilitate Active Learning, (b) exhibit Coherence and Continuity, (c) promote Critical/Creative Thinking, (d) enhance Real-World Connections, (e) involve Reflective Thinking, and (f) foster Understanding of Content
TEACH ED SLO 02 Research Students will demonstrate an understanding of the need to base curricular and instructional decisions of well supported research
TEACH ED SLO 03 Assessment Students will demonstrate an understanding of valid assessment, the different kinds of assessment (formative, summative, etc.), and the virtues of using assessment to accurately characterize student learning and instructional effectiveness
TEACH ED SLO 04 Diversity Students will demonstrate an understanding of the role of culture in student achievement, and the meaning of culturally sensitive pedagogy
TEACH ED SLO 05 Professionalism TEAC Claim 3: Students demonstrate professionalism. We define professionalism not only as knowing and meeting school and district procedures for attendance, punctuality, dress, demeanor and the like, but also as demonstrating awareness of individual and cultural diversity, employing the best technological tools available to teachers and students, making data-based decisions informed by the field’s leading-edge understandings, and abiding by codes of ethical conduct
