Students must be in their final semester and have completed all coursework within their area of discipline and meet with their academic advisor to confirm your graduation date in order to be eligible to apply for graduation.
You must have completed an approved program with the required number of credits specific to that program to qualify for graduation.
All I's, MG's and NR's in courses must be changed before graduation. Students must make certain that any transfer credits have been processed accurately.
Complete your online graduation application via TUportal by the deadline provided by the Office of the University Registrar.
Verify your address on Self Service Banner (SSB) to make sure that your diploma is mailed to the appropriate location 6 weeks following the university's official graduation/commencement date.
Your name will appear on your diploma as it is listed in SSB, with the exception that you may include your middle name. Your diploma will be mailed to the address you specify when you apply on SSB.
If you are having your name legally changed, complete the Name Change Process with the Office of the University Registrar.

Reconcile all outstanding financial obligations to the University in order to participate in graduation/commencement exercises (including library and parking). Students will not have their degree awarded or diploma or transcript released until all university tuition and fees have been paid.
All students who expect to be certified in the State of Pennsylvania must apply for certification. More details on how to complete a certificaition application will shared with you during student teaching orientation as well as periodic email blasts via blackboard. You can schedule a meeting with Ms. Jackie Booker, Teacher Certification Officer at the Shimada Resource Center Ritter Annex 150. Your eligibility for certification will be reviewed based on the requirements in place at the time of application. This may result in having to take additional coursework or testing.
After submitting the online application for graduation and you find that you are unable to complete all the requirements to graduate, please notify the College of Education's Shimada Resource Center's undergraduaye or graduate advisors immediately in writing to indicate your new anticipated graduation date so that we can update your records accordingly.
If you DO NOT complete the requirements for graduation, you MUST submit a new online application at the beginning of the semester in which you anticipate graduating.
Information concerning commencement activities (such as time, place, invitations, rental of academic regalia) is available to students once they have submitted their completed application for graduation.
The completion and submission of the online graduation form does not represent final approval to graduate and should not be interpreted as a guarantee that you have completed all requirements for graduation.
