Teacher Specialists Programs

Do you already have a teacher certification?

The Master of Science in Education (M.S. in Ed.) is for currently certified teachers who wish to deepen and/or broaden knowledge of their current field or to gain new expertise in another area .

M.S. in Ed - Advanced Teacher options include Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Inclusive School Practices, Mathematic/Science Education, and Career and Technical Education. We also offer the option of Emerging Fields for those students interested in curriculum, instruction and technology but whose interests are outside the other areas.

M.S. in Ed. - Reading Specialist - Prepare certified teachers to meet the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s criteria for reading specialists and the International Reading Association standards for reading professionals and literacy coaches.

TESOL/ESL - Designed to meet a broad-range of needs and requirements related to English education, including teaching positions not requiring state certification overseas or in business settings, community agencies, college and university English language institutes, parochial or other private elementary and secondary schools, teaching in a public school system in Pennsylvania (with state certification), and those from abroad who wish to develop their expertise in teaching English in their native country.

Certificate Programs

The College also offers several certificate programs designed with working professionals in mind to increase their marketability and career opportunities. Depending on the program, these may be taken in conjunction with an existing degree program or as stand alone certificates. They typically require 12 units or 4 courses, but please check the specifc program of interest.
