New regulations regarding the kinds of certifications that can be offered by colleges of education
The Elementary Education (changed to Early Childhood Education: PreK-4) and stand alone Special Education certifications (changed to add-on certification only; must be combined with another certification) will no longer be issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for the Post Baccalaureate and Graduate Certificate program students effective January 1, 2013!

Master's Degree Programs
The Graduate Certification Program leads to a Masters in Education (Ed.M.) with initial teacher certification. This is primarily for those who have completed a bachelor's degree in a field other than Education and wish to become a certified teacher while earning the masters degree.
Other Pathways to Teacher Certification
Our Post-Baccalaureate program offers students the opportunity to earn their initial teacher certification without the Ed.M. degree.
The new E=mc2 Transition to Teaching program is for career changers seeking to become middle school math and science teachers.
