Chief Academic Officer
for the University: Responsibilities include all faculty and curricular
affairs for a 29,000 student, Research I University, with 1,600 full time
and 900 part-time faculty members. The University has 16 schools/colleges
and offers bachelor’s degree in 107 areas, master’s in 60
fields, and 71 doctoral and professional degrees.
Provost’s portfolio included: Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies;
Vice Provost for Research; Dean of the Graduate School; Vice Provost for
Faculty. In addition, the University Libraries, Temple University Press
and research centers, through the schools/colleges, report to the Provost,
as do five branch campuses, international programs, and continuing and
distance education.
Major academic initiatives: Reorganization of Schools/Colleges, Academic Planning, Middle States Self Study, Strategic Planning for Health Professions Education, Strategic Planning for Continuing and Distance Education; articulation and core-to-core transfer agreements with area community colleges; review of centers and institutes; and, the opening of Temple University Fort Washington Professional Education Center, revitalization of Temple University Center City, development and opening of Temple University Center for Advanced Technology.

education.

Penn State Mont Alto, Mont Alto Campus
Responsible
for the administration of all aspects of the Mont Alto Campus. Mont Alto
Campus, part of the Commonwealth Educational System, provided primarily
freshman and sophomore education to 1,260 students, 450 in residence on
campus, in 180 majors. Additionally, the campus offered 6 Associate Degrees,
a Baccalaureate in Nursing, and graduate programs in education in cooperation
with PSU Harrisburg. An additional 3,000 students participated in a wide
range of credit and non-credit continuing education programs. Over 2,000
K-12 local school children attended campus programs annually. The campus
consists of 91 acres and 7 major buildings. The faculty had 53 full-time
and 50+ part-time members. Total staff was 175+.

Community College of Philadelphia
Held academic and budgetary
responsibilities for ten programs, over 100 full-and part-time faculty,
and 3,000 students. Programs and curricula included mathematics, chemistry,
physics, architecture, construction, electronics, automotive technology
and engineering.
