ELPS

The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies aims to prepare our graduates for roles as school and community leaders, scholars, researchers and advocates. We strive to create a caring, committed community of scholars and practitioners who work collaboratively and link scholarship to practice. A respect for diversity of all kinds informs our approaches to teaching and learning.

The Department houses two programs of study: Educational Administration and Urban Education. Educational Administration offers master's and doctoral degree programs  designed to prepare students for school leadership. The program also offers stand-alone certificate programs for those seeking state certification or endorsement as a principal, supervisor of curriculum and instruction or superintendent. Urban Education offers a certificate program, often pursued as an add-on to another College degree program, a master's degree program and a Ph.D. program designed for those seeking to become researchers or seeking positions in higher education.
