Pennsylvania State and Federal Grants and Other Scholarships

Financial scholarships for first-time candidates arae available through the Federal Government and the State of Pennsylvania for the entire tuition of $2,500. Once you have completed the application and paid your $65.00 nonrefundable application fee, send an email to csadjpea@temple.edu. Include your name, candidate number (if known), certification area you selected, and date of application submission. Paperwork will then be filed for your scholarship. Qualified candidates will automatically be awarded all subsidy funds (both state and federal). Please allow 6-8 weeks and then check My Profile for the status of your payments. If there is a problem, please email the Center.

Other Scholarships

GlaxoSmithKlein scholarship funds are available for candidate pursuing the EC/Gen, MC/Gen, EA/Science, and AYA/Science certificates. Funds are available for candidates who teach in Philadelphia Public School Districts. Financial Incentives

Below is a list of School Districts currently offering financial incentives to Candidates and National Board Certified Teachers. (Please check with school district for accuracy or revisions.)

Central Dauphin	15	Application cost, plus movement to the Master's+30  column on the salary scale

Colonial	23	$2,500 annually for the life of the certificate, prorated for part-time employees
Conwall Lebanon	13	Annual bonus equivalent to the difference between Masters+45 and Masters+60 column
Cumberland Valley	15	$2,300 for expenses incurred plus salary stipend of $2000 per year
East Pennsboro	15	$2,000 a year as part of salary for the life of certificate
Great Valley	24	$2,000 each year of the life of the certificate, which shall be counted as part of salary for retirement purposes
Lampeter Strasburg	13	$4,000 annual stipend for the life of the certificate
Lancaster	13	Two salary step adjustment on the salary schedule; adjustments are made for teachers already at or near the top salary step
Lower Dauphin	15	$2,000 annually
Manheim Central School District	13	An annual stipend of $7,000 per year for each year that the individual holds the certificate
Mechanicsburg	15	Up to $2,500 for expenses to receive certificate plus $2,000 per year
Milton Hershey School	(private school)	$2,500 stipend annually for the life of the certificate; National Board Certification will also count for 90 hours toward Pennsylvania's Act 48 and will be submitted to the State Department of Education
Norristown	23	$2,000 annual stipend for the life of the certificate, which is part of salary for retirement purposes
North Penn	23	Reimbursement up to $2,000 and a stipend of $2,000 a year for the life of the certificate
Perkiomen Valley	23	$2,000 a year for five years following certification, plus tuition reimbursement for District pre-approved courses leading to National Board certification
Philadelphia	26	Reimburse classroom teachers up to $2500 for fees and expenses after the teacher receives certification. Teachers will receive 1 release day within 30 days before portfolio due date. An annual bonus of $7,500 for the life of the certificate and may be requested to assist or mentor other candidates
Souderton	23	Nationally certified teachers who are not at or receiving credits toward the Doctoral level receive $2,000 a year bonus
Southeast Delco	25	Incentives: Contact district
Springfield Township	23	Stipend of $2000 a year for the life of the certificate counted as part of salary
Spring-Ford	23	Reimbursement of 100% of the cost of obtaining the certificate, plus additional salary increment, as a supplemental bonus, of $2,000 per year (or placement at Master's +30 if candidate chooses)
Susquentia	15	Reimbursement of up to $2,000 for expenses plus a stipend of $2,000 for the life of the certificate
West Chester	24	Reimbursement of up to $2,300 in fees, plus $2000 a year for three years following successful completion of the certificate
Wissahickon	23	Reimbursement of 95% of the cost of obtaining certificate, plus salary increment of $2,800 per year for the life of the certificate (or teachers may elect to move to the M+45 column instead)
