Available exclusively for undergraduate and graduate candidates graduating in August, January or May of the year in which the award is made. Graduation awards are recognized at May Commencement.

Benjamin Verdile |
Established by the College of Education Alumni Association in memory of Dr. Benjamin Verdile. Awarded to a member of the graduating class judged to have performed the most outstanding service in the interest of the College of Education and/or the University. |

David H. Jenkins Memorial Fund |
Established in 1968 to provide an award for the best paper in educational psychology. |

Dr. Rita Wolotkiewicz Award |
Established in 1992 by Rita Wolotkiewicz, EDU ‘46, ‘63, former associate vice president of academic affairs, to provide an award for a recipient of a doctoral degree in education in recognition of outstanding professional achievement |

Dean Willard Zahn Tribute Award |
Established in memory of D. Willard Zahn, EDU ‘22,’30, former Dean of the College of Education, to provide an award for the member of the graduating class who has the highest grade point average. |

Dr. Elton Robertson |
Established in 2008 in honor of Dr. Elton Robertson, College of Education faculty member, to award an outstanding member of the graduating class who shows promise in the use of technology as a teacher. |

Dr. J. Conrade Seegers |
Established in 1970 by the College of Education Alumni Association, alumni, faculty and friends in memory of Dr. Seegers, former Dean of the College of Education, to provide an award for an outstanding graduating senior majoring in education. |

Dr. John G. Finch |
Established in 2003 in memory of Dr. John G. Finch, College of Education faculty member, to award an outstanding member of the graduating class who shows promise in the use of technology as a teacher. |

L. Waldo Rich Memorial Fund |
Established in 1978 by the family of L. Waldo Rich, EDU ‘67, ‘72, former College of Education faculty member, awarded to the most outstanding member of the graduating class majoring in secondary education and/or mathematics. |

Loretta M. Kaltz |
Established in 2010 by Leonard Kaltz in memory of Loretta M. Kaltz. Awarded to a graduating Spanish Education major who intends to teach in the Philadelphia School District. |

Marketing/Distributive Education Alumni Association Award |
Awarded to a member of the graduating class, who has been judged to have performed the most outstanding service in the interest of the College of Education and the University |

Richard J. Malnati Scholarship |
Established in memory of Dr. Richard Malnati, former chairperson of the Counseling Psychology Department to recognize student excellence in the area of Counseling Psychology. |

S.W. Caplan Memorial Marketing/Distributive Education Alumni Association Award |
Awarded to a member of the graduating class majoring in Marketing/Distributive education with outstanding qualities of leadership and personality, and who has earned the highest scholastic average for all work taken at Temple University. |

Student Teacher of the Year |
Awarded to the most outstanding Student Teacher, undergraduate or graduate, in the graduating class in recognition of exemplary performance in scholarship and teaching. |

Awarded to a student who demonstrates their joy of communicating and working with elementary level students as evidenced in student-teaching and in other related activities. |

Teacher Education Graduate in Career and Technical Education |
Awarded to the most outstanding member of the graduating class majoring in career and technical education, who demonstrated excellence in scholarship and teaching. |

Teacher Education Graduate in Early Childhood Education |
Awarded to the most outstanding member of the graduating class majoring in Early Childhood Education |

Teacher Education Graduate in Secondary Education |
Awarded to the teacher education graduate concentrating in secondary education whose record of scholarship and teaching is outstanding. |

Teacher Education Graduate in Special Education |
Awarded to the most outstanding member of the graduating class majoring in special education, who demonstrated excellence in scholarship and teaching. |

Work Force Education Alumni Service Award |
Awarded to a member of the graduating class, who has been judged to have performed the most outstanding service in the interest of the College of Education and the University. A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required. The candidate is nominated by the Teaching & Learning faculty in the Career and Technical Education program. |

Student Ambassadors Award |
Awarded to those students who play a significant role in events sponsored by the College of Education. The winners have provided exemplary service and representation of the College of Education, at college-wide meetings, visitation events, and seminars. |
