Welcome to the College of Education. Over the past few years, the college has witnessed tremendous growth in its profile and reputation. We are an energized community of researchers and education practitioners who are committed to producing highly skilled teachers and education professionals, adding to the knowledge based on urban school reform and student achievement, and influencing education policy and practice.
We continue to take advantage of new relationships with city and regional schools to ensure high quality preparation for our pre-service teachers. Our success in developing first-rate educational professionals is linked to our investments in the infrastructure of the college including upgraded classrooms and major renovations in mathematics and science teaching laboratories, greatly expanded use of technology, and increased capacity to communicate effectively with various constituencies, including students, researchers, clinical faculty in the field, alumni and other stakeholders. Our support for the research mission of the college continues to grow leading to substantial increases in our research productivity. The visibility of the college and its renewed commitment to education issues in the city and in state, regional and national policy also continues to rise.
The college is a very exciting place and by all indicators its upward trajectory continues. I encourage you to get to know us better through the website or a campus visit. We look forward to hearing from you and thanks for your interest in the College of Education at Temple.
Warm Regards,
James Earl Davis, Interim Dean
