The American Council on Education approves graduate credit recommendations for use by candidates for National Board Certification. Tecahers who completed the process (have 10 scorable entries) after 1997 are eligible for three graduate credit recommendations, and teachers who achieved National Board certification after 1997 are eligible for an additional six graduate credit recommendations for a total of nine credit recommendations. In addition, if you are an NBCT who has renewed your certification, you are eligible for three graduate credit recommendations. NBCTs who have already received ACE credit for National Board Certification may go directly to the ACE webpage and login or register to request an additional transcript at the cost of $15.00.

Not all colleges, universities, districts, or state departments will automatically accept this credit. NBPTS strongly recommends you ensure that the credit will be accepted before submitting payment because no refunds will be issued. If you are an NBCT and previously received graduate credit, you are eligible to receive the additional three credit recommendations by reapplying. You will be eligible to apply for the additional hours on March 28, 2007.

Act 48 Credits will be awarded by a number of workshops. These will be noted in the workshop description.
