Candidate Resources

Professional Websites and Journals

As candidates pursuing National Board Certification, you are encouraged to reflect on current research and best practices in the field. Educational websites and journals have been identified as resources in this process.

Temple University Library Access

Paley Library and Harrisburg Library are available to all registered candidates for research. All recommended journals are available at these sites.

Questions

For immediate questions regarding the portfolio process, candidates can call 1-800-22Teach or email using the "Candidate Inquiry Service" available on the NBPTS website.
For questions regarding local support or mentoring, call The Center for Teaching Excellence at 215-204-0557/0372 or email csadjpea@temple.edu.

Videotaping Services

We have secured the services of two Temple students, Collin Emley and Gregg Sandler, to assist you with videotaping your classrooms. The university has purchased a video camera, external microphone, and tripods for their use. There will be a fee for their services. Since they are students with other responsibilities, they have given me the times they are available for taping. Their schedules will be more flexible during their semester break (December 16, 2007 to January 16, 2008).

If you would like to secure their services, please e-mail Chris at csadjpea@temple.edu for the initial visit. Please schedule at least one week in advance.
