Deciding Student Wing

The Deciding Student Wing is an innovative program that familiarizes new students with residential living while supporting them in their academic and social transition to the Temple community. This theme housing opportunity is designed for students who are uncertain about majors and careers and want to live in an environment that promotes academic and career exploration. Undeclared majors in University Studies are eligible to reside on this wing.

Features of the program include:

  • A peer advisor, residing on the wing, available to assist students with course selection, registration, and general academic assistance.
  • A dedicated academic advisor.
  • Workshops and activities offered in the residence hall in collaboration with other academic offices, including the Career Center.
  • Enrollment during the fall semester in a one-credit freshman seminar class that will explore a variety of topics including study skills, time management, technology and career planning. The class will be co-taught by the academic and peer advisor for the wing.
  • In the spring semester, students enroll in a one-credit experiential learning seminar designed to help them choose a major and consider career options.
