This section is the substance of the thesis or dissertation and includes
all chapters, sections and subsections of chapters, as indicated in the Table
of Contents with the corresponding page number.
For Temple dissertations and theses, the norm is totally capitalized, centered chapter labels and chapter titles. Separate the two lines with consistent spacing, whether single or double.

We will also accept other placements and capitalization schemes. Follow through on all headings of the same import.
Use ARABIC numbers --not words, not roman numerals-- to designate chapter numbers.
Each chapter must begin on a new page and NOT be merged with the preceding chapter's text.
The same forced page break also applies to other headings of this type, including the[END]NOTES section, BIBLIOGRAPHY,
REFERENCES CITED, APPENDICES, etc.
Definition. Notes may be substantive or explanatory; they may identify sources or indicate keys to reading a table. Depending on their use and your style manual, they may be called footnotes, endnotes, notes, general notes, probability notes, etc.
