E-DISSERTATION INITIATIVE
Revised 2/10/2012
Doctoral dissertation submissions evolved from paper to pdf with the August 2008 graduation cycle. Master's thesis submissions followed suit with the May 2010 graduation cycle.
And now, beginning with the January 2012 graduation cycle, the diploma and publishing fees no longer exist!
Create an account and familiarize yourself with the site (http://www.etdadmin.com/temple/), but check back here (www.temple.edu/dissertationhandbook) frequently. This is the more fluid site, subject to updates, sample pages, formatting refreshers, procedural changes, etc.
REMINDER: The Graduate School does not process graduation applications. Contact your department and/or school/college about graduation procedures, including deadlines, fees, regalia, invitations, "walking," etc.
Students must now apply for graduation via Banner SSB, which is accessible through TUportal.
Note that the processing fee for doctoral dissertations and master's theses still applies. The cost is currently $50 and must be paid to the Bursar for posting to FOPAL 100000 24800 4981 04. It is recommended that doctoral and master's students take the Dissertation/Thesis Processing Fee form to the Bursar's Office when paying the fee.
If you choose to file for copyright through ProQuest, that fee is currently $55. It is payable online through the ETD system, whether doctoral or master's.
Please note:
If you are applying for a diploma for a degree to which you were not officially admitted
(e.g., admitted to the Ph.D. by picking up an M.A. along the way),
the Associate Dean's office in your school/college may first have to process
a Change of Program Workflow (Graduate) before you can access the correct graduation application.
Please plan ahead.
