Students at Temple University are encouraged to visit the Tuttleman Counseling Services in the ground floor of Sullivan Hall if they have any questions about social or emotional counseling supports. This free service is geared to help Temple University students increase understanding and self-awareness, and to develop problem-solving skills that are essential in life. Many of the specific areas in which you can receive support are psychological and psychiatric services, campus alcohol and substance awareness, sexual assault counseling and education, conflict education, and online self-help information.

For students with mental illness, Horizon House, Inc. offers a range of services. Education Plus is a program through Horizon House that offers services to adults with psychiatric disabilities to earn their desired post-secondary education. Educational Specialists will meet with you at the location of your choice to assist you in reaching your educational goals. All information is confidential. All services are free of charge to the student.
Services through Education Plus include:
- Individual counseling around academic and personal issues that affect college life
- Assistance in managing the financial aid process
- Help with course selection
- Assistance with time management and study skills
- Connection to campus and other services in the community
- Direct links to Horizon House’s supported employment services, psychiatric outpatient, drug and alcohol, and housing services
- A peer support group
