Dear Diamond Band Alum,

Football season is in full swing and it's time to start thinking about ALUMNI BAND!  As the Acting Director of Athletic Bands for 2007-2008, I am excited to continue this wonderful Diamond Band tradition.  I know that the weather did not cooperate with our plans last fall, but it certainly did not dampen the spirits of the Alumni that attended!

As we have done in the past, the Alumni Band will be performing with the DMB on the field during halftime—and for that we need your help!  Please come—see old friends, see “The Linc,”  play your instrument, and be recognized at halftime. 

The Alumni Band is a tradition that is enjoyed by both Band alums and fans alike.  Participants in recent years have represented Band membership spanning more than 50 years.  Homecoming is a chance not only for alums to gather, but also a chance to meet and support current members as we all celebrate the history and tradition of the DMB.  Additionally, this year offers a special treat for our Alums, as it marks the 30th anniversary celebration of the Diamond Band’s trip to the Mirage Bowl in Japan!  Additional activities are in the works to commemorate this milestone.

As in previous years, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will provide game admission for each Alumni Band member.  Guests will require a ticket and will be offered a discounted ticket price through the athletic ticket office. 

Since much preparation is needed, your quick response will be appreciated.  Please complete and return the attached Adobe PDF reservation response form or complete the e-mail response form located below as soon as possible.  (E-mail is the preferred way to contact us.)

The schedule that day will include a brief rehearsal in the morning on-campus followed by the game day activities at Lincoln Financial Field. Details for the day's schedule will be sent to you prior to Homecoming after we receive indication of your planned participation.

While we update our address files as we receive new information, it is difficult to keep our records current.  Please pass this information on to other Band alums who might not have received their copy of this mailing, or forward their address to the Band Office so that our lists may be revised.

We're looking forward to another great Homecoming and hope that you will be able to join us.
