Cynthia (Cindy) Stifter, Ph.D.



Cindy Stifter is currently the Director of the Infant and Child Temperament Lab at Penn State.  The lab was established in 1987 and does research on colic and emotion regulation in infancy.

She received her Ph.D. in Human Development from the University of Maryland in 1987, and her MSW at the University of Maryland School of Social Work and Community Planning in 1978.  Currently, Cindy is on the editorial boards of Infancy and Child Development.  Cindy has served on the faculty at Penn State, and as a visiting professor at Harvard University.

Cindy's research interests include developmental psychophysiology, and reactivity and regulation in infancy.
