Nurit Yirmiya, Ph.D.
Dr. Yirmiya is an associate professor in the Department of Psychology and School of Education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She received her BA in Psychology and Philosophy at Haifa University. She then received her MA and PhD at UCLA, where she also completed her postdoc.
Much of Dr. Yirmiya's research is on autism, family studies of autism, and theory of mind. She also has conducted numerous meta-analyses. Dr. Yirmiya is interested in understanding how autistic and schizophrenic individuals display theory of mind. She writes numerous articles on gaze aversion in autistic children, as well as how autistic individuals function cognitively in terms of seriation and conservation.
