About University College

In March 2004, the Board of Trustees established University College with the responsibility to assure the quality, effectiveness and staffing of academic programs and courses offered at Temple campuses, centers, and other off-site locations.  University College serves as an administrative unit coordinating the academic offerings of Temple University Ambler, Center City (TUCC) and Harrisburg, as well as Temple University in Japan and in Rome, both of which continue reporting administratively to the Vice President for International Programs.  Deans and Directors of campuses in University College meet regularly with the Deputy Provost in his capacity as Dean of University College and participate in University academic, strategic and fiscal planning.

University College assures a full and regular rotation of courses offered at locations for which it is responsible.  It also oversees and monitors the assignment and appointment of faculty at those campuses, centers and locations to assure that programs and courses offered there are staffed by persons who demonstrate outstanding credentials, experience, and performance. A central focus for University College is keeping campuses across the state and around the world connected to Temple’s mission and organization.
