About Periodic Program Review

Temple University implemented Periodic Program Review (PPR) in 2003 as a regular process for encouraging schools and colleges to reflect on how to improve their teaching, scholarly and creative activities, and service.

Periodic Program Review at Temple University consists of three components:

  • Self-study
  • External review
  • Plan for improvement

Regular assessment in your program will also help with Periodic Program Review. Of the 10 key areas of PPR, half are fundamental to the assessment of student learning.  For more information about assessment practices click here to see the assessment section of this website.
