WELCOME! The The Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry hosts the North East Regional Board examination
in dentistry three times each year, in May, August and December.
During the summer and winter series (August and December), the
examination in dental hygiene is also administered.
It is our intention, through this site
to provide you with the necessary information to aid in your preparation
to take the examination at our facility. Although every attempt
will be made to keep this site as current and accurate as possible,
occasionally minor changes may occur which may not be immediately
reflected within.
Dr. Leona Sperrazza is the site coordinator
at the Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry for the Northeast
Regional Board examination. She is your primary contact person
and will answer your questions during the facility tours of the
building.
Founded in 1863, The Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry is the second oldest dental school in continuous
existence in the United States. The primary goal of the school
is to educate a biologically oriented, technically competent and
socially sensitive practitioner of dental medicine who adheres
to the highest standards of professional conduct and ethics and
who can function effectively as a member of the health care delivery
system.
Although various research opportunities
do indeed exist, Temple's strength has always been excellence
and mastery in the practice of dentistry. The comprehensive treatment
curriculum cultivates mastery in manual dexterity, craftsmanship,
and diagnostic, preventive, and treatment skills, and encourages
the development of basic business acumen and a well-rounded "chairside
manner." Temple graduates are known for their confidence and ability
to successfully treat any patient with nearly any condition. Traditionally,
the school's failure rate in the licensee examinations (i.e.,
the clinical boards) is markedly lower than many other schools
(indicating an especially strong emphasis on clinical expertise),
and graduates are able to practice in their state (or country)
of choice. Armed with extensive and impressive resumes, nearly
forty percent of our students continue their education in post-graduate
programs.
Please feel free to contact the School or refer
to the Candidate Information Sheet which will be supplied to you
from NERB once they have assigned you to Temple as your test site.
