Temple University Center for Professional Development in Career and Technical Education Fall Leadership Academy

This Academy is hosted by the Temple Center’s Personnel Development Advisory Committee.  PDAC Chair, Dr. Thomas Gregor and Co-Chair, Mr. Brian Williams, along with Dr. Thomas Rushton invite you to assemble a team to attend this Academy focused on addressing individual student needs. During the morning session, Dr. Matt Tincani from Temple’s Special Education program will explore the concept of RtII (Response to Instruction and Intervention). After lunch, Mr. Matt Mann from Lancaster CCTC will explain how Lancaster has implemented the concept in their system.

What is RtII in PA?

A Program
Overview

Response to Instruction and Intervention (RtII) in Pennsylvania refers to the use of a standards-aligned, comprehensive school improvement and/or multi-tiered system of support for implementing PA’s Standards Aligned System (SAS).  RtII is a school reform strategy that enables early identification and intervention for students needing additional opportunities to learn high level content while providing benchmark students the opportunity to enrich and “grow” their skills and talents.  The intent of RtII is to improve learning as efficiently, effectively and equitably as possible for ALL students, including students with disabilities. Response to Instruction and Intervention is an “Every Ed” standards-aligned initiative.
