A person holding a valid Vocational Intern Certificate shall be eligible for a Vocational Instructional I Certificate upon:
Listed below are the undergraduate course requirements for the Vocational Instructional I Certificate. The Intern certificate is valid for only three years and all requirements for the Vocational I shall be completed in that period. The courses are listed in the typical sequence in which they may be taken. Required testing and professional work experience are also listed. The Level I certificate is valid for six years of teaching.

A passing score must be earned on the Council of Educators (COE) Performance Review.

A minimum of two years of trade-related work experience must be verified on file at Temple University.
Tests and test scores are subject to change yearly.
Passing scores must be on file with the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and Temple University at the time of application.
* PRAXIS Scores are valid for only 5 years from the date taken
To apply for the Vocational I the candidate will complete the PDE 339 G and C and provide a copy of the last certificate, provide official transcripts from all schools or universities other than Temple University showing completion of all required course work, a copy of the PPST scores and a $40 Postal money order. The application is then submitted to the Temple University Certification Advisor.
