Master's Degree in Education: Industrial Education

The Master's degree in Education for candidates seeking certification in Industrial Education is a 36-semester-hour program of professional studies that builds on statutory requirements and an undergraduate degree platform of courses and experiences.
 

Statutory Requirements

  • Two years of wage-earning experience beyond the learning period in a technical field
  • Successful completion of an occupational competency examination
The test includes both a written and performance evaluation.

Pennsylvania State Tests and Requirements

Candidates seeking certification must earn a passing score in each of the following examinations:

  • The Praxis I, Reading and Writing, Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  • The National Teachers Examination in either Professional Knowledge and General Knowledge or in Vocational General Knowledge
Passing scores must be on file with both the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Temple University. Permanent certification requires an employing school district to confirm the applicant's completion of an approved induction program.
