Temple's Sbarro Institute for Cancer Research and Molecular Medicine, part of the Sbarro Health Research Organization (SHRO), is home to state-of-the-art research into cures for cancer, cardiovascular and other diseases through the identification of their underlying molecular mechanisms. Institute director and president of the SHRO Antonio Giordano and colleagues perform research devoted to understanding the molecular and cellular workings of cancer and cardiovascular disease, the connection between obesity and cancer, and molecular therapeutics.
