CST student wins Rising Star EDDY AWARD
Chemistry major Tamanna Sultana honored by Philadelphia Education Fund
Senior chemistry major Tamanna Sultana has earned the Rising Star EDDY Award from 
the Philadelphia Education Fund. Sultana has emerged as a mentor and teacher to all
those around her. Tutoring and motivating students in math and science
has been second nature to Sultana, who plans to apply
to medical school and become a physician.
After moving to Philadelphia from Bangladesh in 2005, Sultana graduated as Class Valedictorian at University City High School in 2008. She worked closely with the Philadelphia Education Fund's College Access Program, which helped her apply for a Last Dollar Scholarship from the Philadelphia Scholars Program. Her academic achievements have earned her a membership in the Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society and Temple's Valaida Walker Memorial Award for outstanding leadership and service to others. Sultana has demonstrated an incredible drive to succeed.
The mission of the Philadelphia Education Fund is to improve the quality of public education in Philadelphia and the region, so that youth are prepared for college and careers.
