Welcome to the Temple Team
In an effort to orient new faculty, the Temple University Human Resources Department presents an orientation session called Welcome to the Temple Team. A half-day program is offered twice monthly and all new employees and faculty are required to attend. Full time faculty members must register themselves by contacting Kimberly Sakil at 215-204-1683.

Employee Health Services is located at 1810 Liacouras Walk, 4th floor, on campus dial 1-2679 or off campus 215-204-2679. M-F 8:30 – 12 noon & 1 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. This office can handle most of the same services as a primary care Physician in addition to pre-employment examinations and work related injuries.
Employment Forms
If you have never worked for Temple University, you must complete I-9 and W-4 forms. There is a legal obligation to complete these forms within 72 hours from the start of your employment. These forms are necessary to formally create a faculty profile and enter you into the University computer system.
International Employees
The Office of International handles all inquiries relating to International Employees and Research Scholars. All policies and procedures are posted on the website http://www.temple.edu/ois/
Upon arrival to the US, call 215-204-7708 to schedule an appointment to meet with Sharon Loughran in the Office of International Service (OIS). Be sure to bring your passport, I-94 card, stamped DS-2019 and proof of insurance to cover the time period listed on your DS-2019. The OIS is open Monday - Friday from 8:30 to 5:00.
Employee Self-Service Web Site
Employee Self-Service is a Web-based system that enables employees to view and/or update their own personal, work and leave-related information from the Human Resource Information System.
Through it, employees can submit changes to some of the data maintained such as emergency contact information and work location mailing address. Be able to view hierarchy data, update home addresses, sign up for direct deposit, change tax withholdings, and view pay and benefit information.
The ESS Web site at http://ess.temple.edu is available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The system is accessible from home or work — all you need is your AccessNet user name and password to log on.

Faculty ID and Parking Decal
Before going to Parking Services to secure a parking decal, you will need your faculty identification. Approximately 24-48 hours after you complete the required payroll documents, you will be able to get your Temple ID card. ID pictures are taken in Human Resources Department located at:\

Instructional Support
Instructional Support is for all multimedia needs within the classroom. Most classrooms have screens and overhead monitors so that you can project images and presentations directly to the entire classroom. If you have other audio-visual needs instructional Support may be able to help.

SEDONA
Sedona is an on-line system used by The College of Science and Technology for collecting and reporting information on faculty activities. You can easily view, edit, and add to your CV information on-line.
TUportal, https://tuportal.temple.edu/ built upon state-of-the-art Oracle database technology. Depending on your University status, such as student, faculty, staff, or future student, TUportal provides customized access to a variety of applications such as email and other library resources through a single login. TUmail is the University’s web-based email system. You can create your TU email account and password by visiting https://accounts.temple.edu/
Blackboard
The website blackboard.temple.edu is used to access Blackboard, the online classroom system. Within Blackboard, you can create or edit teaching material that can be fully accessed by your students.
For
the Fall 2009, classes begin August 31, 2009, and classes end Dec. 19. Final exams for the Fall are held from Dec. 14-19, 2009 following a schedule based upon when your classes meet (exam schedule can be found in a online).
The
Spring Semester 2010 begins Tuesday, January 19 and the last day of classes is Monday, May 3. Final exams for the Spring are held from Thursday, May 6-Wednesday, May 12 following an exam schedule based upon when your classes meet (this schedule can be found online). University Commencement is May 13, and a College Graduation Ceremony is usually held the same day.
Cafeteria and Food Services
The Diamond Club is open to all Faculty, Career Staff, Alumni and Graduate Students of Temple University. The membership application can be found on the website. The number is 215-204-6622.

Mail Services/Mailroom
Mail and packages are delivered and picked up each day through the department main office. Alternatively, you can to mail a package or letter at the Temple Post Office.
Book Orders and Bookstore
Books must be ordered through the Temple Bookstore via the departmental office. Your departmental main office will assist with your book orders.
Copiers

Libraries
A full range of services are offered within the Library and are also available through a full online library. The Science, Engineering and Architecture Library (SEAL) collection includes recent books, reference materials and current periodicals in architecture, biology, chemistry, engineering, geology and physics.
Online journal access, electronic research databases, interlibrary loans, e-books and an offering catalog can be accessed on the web at http://library.temple.edu/
