Wine Tasting with the Department of Chemistry and Greg Moore

Greg Moore of Moore Brothers Wine Company led a highly informative wine tasting in conjunction with the Department of Chemistry on November 21. Nearly 100 alumni, friends, faculty and staff were treated to a a tasting of five wines donated by the Moore Brothers Wine Company. Mr. Moore revealed, through colorful anecdotes as well as technical descriptions, the best shape for a wine glass, the reasons for swirling and smelling wine and the origins and causative elements of each of the five wines provided. Chemistry professor David Dalton gave a lyrical, condensed lesson by based on the popular Chemistry of Wine undergraduate course to begin the evening.
