The mission of the Community and Youth Development Unit is to collaborate with businesses, schools, community and faith based organizations, social service and health care providers, community leaders and residents, and Temple University students and faculty in order to build strong, stable communities in North Philadelphia through: Advocacy, Direct Services, Education, and Research.
Compassion Capital Demonistration: Training, Technical Assistant and funding for capacity building for 16 faith-based and community-based organizations in North Philadelphia.
Get SMART: Tutoring and Mentoring for after school programs for up to 500 students in North Philadelphia schools.
Temple Partnership Schools, Surroundcare Program: Case management and social service support for up to 100 students and families in the four Temple Partnership schools.
21st Century: Academic support, social and recreational support and career exploration for up to 100 Middle school and High school students and parents in North Philadelphia.
