Connecting to
tusecurewireless or turesnet

Windows 7 - Full Setup Procedure

Registering (For TUresnet users only)

If you are planning to use the turesnet or turesnetextra network, you must register your computer before you can connect.

You do not need to register your computer if you are using the tusecurewireless network.

Connecting (For all users)

Note: Before setting up tusecurewireless or turesnet, verify that your laptop displays an active wireless connection. If the green connection light does not appear, activate the connection by pressing the appropriate switch or key on your laptop. For detailed instructions, refer to the user guide for your computer.

1. Click Start > Control Panel.

2. Click Network and Internet. Sample Screen
3. Click Network and Sharing Center. Sample Screen
4. Click Manage Wireless Networks. Sample Screen

5. If you see an icon for the network to which you are trying to connect (tusecurewireless or turesnet), perform the following:

a) Click the icon.

b) Click Remove.

c) At the confirmation screen, click OK.

6. Click Add.

7. Click Manually create a network profile.

8. Enter the following information:

a. Network name: tusecurewireless or turesnet

b. Security type:
WPA2-Enterprise

c. Encryption type:
AES

d. Select Start this connection automatically

e. Select Connect even if the network is not broadcasting

Then, click Next.

9. Click Change connection settings. Sample Screen

10. Select the Security tab and click Settings.

11. Make the following changes:

a. Uncheck "Validate server certificate."

b. Select Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2).

c. Click Configure.

12. Uncheck "Automatically use my Windows..." and click OK. Then, click OK on any open windows.

13. Go to the Task Bar at the bottom of the Desktop. Mouse over the connecting icon and click on Additional information is required to connect to tusecurewireless or turesnet.

14. Enter your AccessNet username and password and then click OK.

15. A message verifying authentication may display. Sample Screen
Disconnecting
1. Click the wireless icon on the system tray (lower right portion of the screen next to the date and time). Sample icon
2. Click the tusecurewireless or turesnet connection. Sample Screen
3. Click Disconnect. Sample Screen
Reconnecting
1. Click the wireless icon on the system tray (lower right portion of the screen next to the date and time). Sample icon
2. Click the tusecurewireless or turesnet network connection. Sample Screen

3. Click Connect.

4. If prompted, enter your AccessNet username and password and then click OK. Sample Screen
