Registering your Laptop or Other Device for the Residence Hall Wireless Networks
Before using the turesnet or turesnextra networks, you must register your laptop or other device (e.g., iPad, iPhone, iPod, smart phone, or game console) as described in the table below.
Note: These instructions assume you have already established wired Internet service in your room. If you have not already established a wired Internet connection, contact the Help Desk for assistance in setting up wireless access. To register the following device... |
perform the following steps... |
| Windows or Mac Laptop | 1. Unplug your laptop from the Internet jack in your room. 2. Connect to the turesnet wireless network and open a web browser. The getconnected.temple.edu web site will appear. 3. Log in to the getconnected.temple.edu web site. 4. Select Request Internet Service and follow the instructions. Access will be ready in 30 minutes. |
Other Device (e.g., iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Android phone) Note: Computer Services does not support or recommend setting up wireless printers at this time. |
1. Determine the MAC adapter address of your device. 2. Using any computer on campus, log in to the getconnected.temple.edu web site. 3. Select Add Another Device. 4. Select the device you are registering and follow the instructions to register your MAC adapter address. Access will be ready in 30 minutes. |
Game console Note: Computer Services does not support or recommend setting up wireless printers at this time. |
