Voice MailTemple's residence halls offer telephone services as an amenity which is included in the price of your room. To set up voice mail, you will need to initialize your voice mailbox and then confirm the initialization. You can, if you wish, complete these procedures off campus. Initializing and Using Your Voice Mailbox When you initialize your voice mailbox, you will need to enter the temporary password that is printed at the top of your confirmation letter. Before you initialize your mailbox, please set aside a few minutes to create your password and a personal greeting. Note that passwords may be 7 to 15 digits in length. Please do not begin with a zero or use sequential numbers in your password. I. Initializing your voice mailbox: To initalize your voice mailbox: 1. Press 1-2010 (on campus) or 215-204-2010 (off campus) on your touch pad. You will hear: "Welcome to Temple's Voice Processing System. If you are a subscriber…press the pound sign." 2. Press the pound sign (#). 3. Enter your mailbox number, which is your telephone number. From a campus phone, enter your five-digit telephone number; from off campus, enter your seven-digit telephone number. For example, For example, on Main Campus, your mailbox number is prefaced by 8 or 777. 4. The tutorial will start: "Hello, this voice message system can help increase your communications efficiency…". At the end of the message, enter your seven-digit temporary password which is printed at the top of your confirmation letter. 5. Next, enter your new password. 6. Record your last name and then your first name into the headset. 7. Press option 2 to record your personal greeting. 8. Please listen to the entire tutorial. If you need to exit from your mailbox, press the star key (*). The star key will take you back one menu at a time until you hear "Goodbye." II.
