Billing

When telephones are installed and services are activated, departments are billed for monthly telephone service. Monthly rates differ for single line and multi-line sets.

Retrieving telephone bills

Telephone bills are available through the following:

  • FMS on the Web
    Each month your telephone charges appear as a one-line entry under the 7421 account code. If you click on that figure, a list of all your telephone numbers will appear with a summary of the charges associated with that number. If you click on any telephone number, you will be able to see the detail associated with those charges.

  • Report2Web
    Report2Web is a service offered by Computer Services that will automatically e-mail your telephone bills to you each month. This service would permit you to review your telephone charges online and archive your departmental telephone bills, if needed.

Understanding your telephone bill

Telephone bills contain the following fields:

  • Subscriber: name of the extension's user

  • Phone: phone number of the extension

  • Local: charges incurred for local calls

  • Toll: charges incurred for calls outside of the local calling area

  • MRC: monthly recurring charges for the port assigned to the extension and for the telephone set

  • OCC: other charges/credits incurred by the extension, typically for work in accordance with a Customer Service Order

Billing inquiries

If the summary bill lists a telephone extension that is not in use, please call the extension to determine its ownership. If you are unable to identify the user or if you learn that the extension is being billed improperly, please complete the Department Billing Claim Request form and submit it to the address below. The Office of Telecommunications will investigate the claim.

If the cost center to which department extensions are charged has been changed, please notify the Office of Telecommunications by completing a Department Billing Claim Request form and submitting it to the address below.

Note: You can fill out and submit the Department Billing Claim Request form electronically. To do so, you must log in with your AccessNet username and password.
