Telephone Conferencing

Obtain a Telephone Conferencing Account

Temple University offers Verizon telephone conferencing service to Temple University departments. This service offers a practical and cost-effective option for conducting small meetings with up to 20 participants. The service is easy to use and does not require participants to perform any setup process.

Who is entitled to this service?

All budget unit heads of Temple University and Temple University Health System can request this service. Multiple toll free conference lines can also be requested.

What are the limitations and restrictions related to this service?

  • A conference call can support up to 20 participants per call.
  • The department designee is required to dial into the conference line at least once every six months in order to maintain the toll free number. Otherwise, the toll free number will be deactivated.
  • This is an audio-only service.

How do I use this service?

Once the service is activated with a toll-free number and passcodes, Verizon will provide full instructions to the budget unit head who requested the service. Participants simply dial the toll-free number and follow the prompts.

What are the requirements for using this service?

  • To take advantage of telephone conferencing, a department needs a Verizon conferencing account.
  • The department designee is required to maintain the confirmation number and passcodes.
  • The department designee is required to dial into the conference line at least once every six months in order to maintain the toll free number. Otherwise, the toll free number will be deactivated.
  • To use this service, participants only need access to a telephone line.

What is the time frame for fulfillment of service?

The service is normally activated within five business days after the budget unit head submits the request.

When is this service available for use?

This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

What is the cost of this service?

The cost of this service is $0.03 per minute for each conference call participant. This cost will be billed to the department. There are no activation or monthly charges.

International participants cannot dial-in toll free, but will incur standard charges at normal international rates from their local phone provider.

How do I request this service?

Budget unit heads can request the service by logging in to TUhelp.temple.edu and submitting your request with the following information*:

  • Conference Leader Name
  • Department
  • Phone
  • Fax
  • E-mail
  • Street Address (for mailing purposes)
  • Floor/Suite/Room
  • City, State, and Zip Code
  • FOAPAL
  • International Access (Yes or No)
